La Cala Golf Club/North Course
- The three courses at La Cala, North
(Par 73), South (Par 72) and the new Europa (Par 71) have
been designed by North American architect Cabell B. Robinson.
In a difficult and winding area, as Robinson says, "the
terrain for the La Cala course made it my most challenging
course construction project". Ideal complements are the
clubhouse with its bar and pro shop, and the prestigious
David Leadbetter Golf Academy, with a large driving range,
surrounded by a Par 3 course.
The North Course starts with the three flattest
holes of the Resort followed by a narrow and interesting
Par 3, where we recommend that you hit the ball onto the
green or you will find yourself in a ravine or bunker. Watch
out for the 6th, a difficult uphill index 1 hole. A good
drive is needed. If you have time, walk up to the white
tee box on the 16th and take in the spectacular views of
the entire resort. You can even see the coastline from this
height. Good luck crossing the lake on this par 3 hole.
The 18th hole is also interesting as it is downhill all
the way to the 19th where you can relax after a good round
of golf.
