David (the resident golf club technical guru on The Golf Connection) became a golf professional in 1977. He served as the head golf professional or director of golf at Otter Creek Golf Course, Columbus, Indiana, Geneva National Golf Club, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and The Hawthorns G & CC, Fishers, Indiana.

Throughout his involvement in the management of golf courses his passion for golf equipment and how they affect the golfers' game continued. In 2002 David decided to pursue the passion and offer golfers' more choices and better options in golf equipment than they can receive in most retail operations, the result - Fairway Golf.
